Price: $500

Well, it's finally here. The new Creative Annihilator 2 Ultra. Based on nVidia's latest chipset, the Annihilator 2 Ultra is among the fastest video card you can buy. This video card came into our lab and then proceeded to shatter every single benchmark we toss at it. To say this card is fast is an understatement of huge proportions. This thing is beyond fast. It's the first video card to be able to run Quake 3 at over 60 frames per second at 1600x1200x32 bit color! No other non Ultra video card on the market is even close to this level of performance!

The Creative Annihilator 2 Ultra is a "take no prisoner" video card. It's not for the person looking for the best "bang" for the buck. Forget that. With an estimate street price of $500 the Annihilator will annihilate your wallet as well as Quake 3 benchmarks.

What do you get for your 500 hard earned big ones? You get the world's fastest 3D consumer level video card and not much else. There is no game bundle what-so-ever. The only software included are the drivers and a copy of LAVA! That's some interactive 3D music video software. It doesn't improve the Annihilator's performance and the only reason I think Creative included it was to promote their sound cards.

With a core speed of 250Mhz and armed with 64 Megs of DDR RAM running at a sky high 458Mhz, the Annihilator 2 Ultra is among the first GeForce Ultra video cards to break the 1 billion pixel fill rate level. The problem is unless you have a monitor that can handle the kind of resolution this card is designed to run at, you're really wasting your money by buying it.
