If you're looking for a new video to increase the speed of your 3D games to insane levels, you've come to the right place. The new Elsa Gladiac GeForce2 GTS is one of the fastest video card you can buy right now. Based on the new nVidia GeForce 2 chipset and higher performing DDR RAM than past GeForce cards, the Elsa Gladiac can run any game you toss at it.

The Elsa Gladiac is available in three configurations; a 32 meg AGP and PCI version that sells for $349 and a 64 Meg high end version that will sell for $449. We had a look at the 32 Meg AGP card.

While the box that the Gladiac came in was as big as a motherboard box, there is really very little inside. All you get is the video card, a driver CD and a one page installation guide. Yes, the installation guide is just printed on one sheet of paper. There is an online user's guide on the CD however.

The Gladiac does come with a software bundle but it's not included in the box. Instead you have to create your own software bundle by going to the Elsa web site and choosing the software you want from a list. You get two free titles and an option to purchase three more titles at a discounted price.

The Gladiac itself doesn't have any fancy features like TV out or 3D Glasses. It's just an insanely fast video card meant for gamers who want the fastest speed and best graphic quality without any fancy devices.

Most of the new found speed comes from the new GeForce2 chip. The chip is based on a .18u process rather than the older .22u used in  the old GeForce 256. By reducing the die size the chip runs cooler, thereby allowing it to running at higher clock speeds.

The Elsa Gladiac runs at 200Mhz core Vs 120Mhz for older GeForce cards. Memory has been improved as well. While the old GeForce uses 300Mhz DDR RAM, the Gladiac GeForce2 GTS make use of faster 333Mhz DDR RAM. The combination of the two gives the Gladiac a nice speed advantage over non GeForce2 video cards.

With a street price of $349, the Gladiac is not only one of the fastest video cards, but also one of the most expensive video cards you can buy. Is this price worth it? Let's find out.
