The scores between the Elsa Gladiac and 3D Prophet II are so close you can consider it a wash. Both cards are very very fast. GeForce2 video cards are the first card The Tech Zone has tested that can run Quake 3 at 1600x1200 at 60fps.

16 bit Vs 32 bit

Benchmark Type 16 bit 32 bit
Quake 3 Dem0001 800x600 114.5 106.8
Quake 3 Dem0001 1024x768 109.1 77.5
Quake 3 Dem0001 1600x1200 60.7 31.1
Quake 3 Dem0002 800x600 115.3 110.9
Quake 3 Dem0002 1024x768 112.6 78.5
Quake 3 Dem0002 1600x1200 62.7 32.4

At lower resolution, there is nearly no slow down when running at 32 bit. However, start cranking up the resolution and prepare to see a drop in frame rate of up to 50%. Some people may find 30fps playable. I'm not one of them.
