SNiper2 TNT2 M64 Review
Fun With TNTCLK
To overclock the SNiper 2 M64 I used a program call TNTCLK. This is a great
little program for overclocking any TNT/TNT2/M64 card. Just set the speed you want and
it's ready to go. You can even apply your speed when your computer starts. No need to set
it every time you turn on your comp.

The core of the TNT2 M64 chip is very overclockable. I
was able to overclock the core speed from 100Mhz to a mind blowing 160Mhz! This is faster
than the stock speed of a TNT2 Ultra! Not bad for just $100! Too bad I couldn't say the
same thing about the memory speed. With slow 7ns ram aboard the best I can get out of the
memory was 145Mhz. Up only 35Mhz from stock. Still for a $100 video card, you can't lose.
Or can you? Here are the results of the overclock testing.

With the SNiper running at 160/145, the
card became a different animal. The SNiper was able to beat the Viper 770 in nearly every
test but Quake 3, where it is just plain unplayable at the test settings. Quake 3 will run
well if you crack down the texture and color to 16 bit instead of 32 and lower the
resolution. Once again, if Quake 3 is your game, this is not your card.
