The new Diamond Viper V770 Ultra is Diamond's fastest video card. Diamond clocked the card at a very conservative 150Mhz core and 183Mhz memory. The card has the potential for more, allot more. Diamond included a little overclocking utility for you to explore just how much more. The program allows you to set speed up to 175 Mhz core and 200 Mhz memory. It's a shame it stops there because the Viper 770 Ultra we had for testing can go higher than that. As a matter of fact, we got the card to run rock stable at 185/220 with just the factory heatsink fan!

Make no mistakes about it. This card is FAST! And it doesn't sacrifice anything to get that speed. 32 bit color? It's got it. AGP texturing? Got that too. Large texture support? Ditto! Ultra high visual quality? You haven't live till you see Quake 3 on this baby!

Diamond sells the V770 Ultra on their web site for $249. A full $50 more than the Viper V770. For your extra $50, you get a faster card with 2 full version games,  Superbike World Championship from Electronic Arts and Wild Metal Country from Gremlin Interactive. The 4 hour trail of Need For Speed III is also included. I'm still wondering why Diamond couldn't just give us that too. As it is, the V770 Ultra is still way behind the Voodoo 3 3000 in terms of bang for the buck.
