A New Way to Play Wii
In fact, you don’t need to hold the Wii Remote at all, nor do you need to press any buttons or hit any directional pads. As its name implies, the way that you play Let’s Tap is to tap… a flat hard surface.
The Wii Remote is placed face down on a surface of your choosing. The introductory tutorial suggests a tissue box of all things, but just about any flat and hard surface will do.
With each tap, the Wii Remote may bounce around a little, so what I did was place the Wii Remote on a small cardboard box. I used my left hand to minimize the travel of the controller while using my right hand to tap the box. You may be able to come up with a more creative configuration.
In any case, the idea is that when you tap this surface, the vibration travels to the Wii Remote and the internal accelerometer can translate that into a movement. It’ll detect soft, medium, and strong strikes; these provide different in-game results.
