Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse Review

The Ridiculously Small Wireless Receiver

Logitech VX Nano

Make no mistake, the micro receiver that comes with Logitech VX Nano Laser Mouse is remarkably small. The actual receiver component is only about 1/3 the length of the USB connector itself, making the entire thing about half the length of a AAA battery. Naturally, this is the biggest selling point — no pun intended — of the VX Nano.

Inserting this wireless receiver into an available USB port is a piece of cake and while it is in there, it only sticks out a couple of millimeters. In this way, you really can just leave the receiver plugged into your notebook at all times. Set it and forget it, as they like to say in late night infomercials.

Getting the receiver out isn’t all that hard either, because Logitech has include a small ridge where you can fit a fingernail. Give it a good yank and the receiver will come out. When it comes time to pack everything up, you can store the receiver inside the battery compartment of the mouse. You’ll need to remove the cover, but there is a dedicated slot for the receiver.

High Precision Laser Tracking

Logitech VX Nano

The performance laser technology found within the Logitech VX Nano Wireless Mouse, as far as I can tell, is the same technology that was used in the MX Revolution and the VX Revolution. What this means is that you are going to get some ultra precise movements; the performance of this mouse is easily head and shoulders above any optical mouse on the market.

Just like the MX Revolution, you don’t need any sort of specialized surface to get the VX Nano to work. I got it work just as easily on a leather sofa as I did on a professional gaming mouse pad. There’s probably a little bit of difference in performance between the two, but I thought that it was still pretty great. I could not get it to work on glass.

I own the VX Nano from august and it’s fantastic! I never change batteries and I’ve got 50% of charge left, working 9-10 hours/day (or more sometimes). And I can move my laptop without worring about the receiver. But my middle button is configured for change window in WinVista, not for search
