Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse Review

Hurray For Extra Buttons and Functionality

Logitech VX Nano

In addition to the two main mouse buttons, you’ll also find the scroll wheel in the center that also offers horizontal scrolling. The cool thing is that when you press the scroll wheel into the mouse, you switch between the two scrolling modes: a near frictionless mode for ultra-fast scrolling and the more conventional click-by-click style of scrolling. Below the wheel is the search button. If you highlight a term in a web browser and then click the search button, it can automatically look up the highlighted term in Google.

To the left of the left mouse button are two smaller buttons: Forward and Back. The positioning of these buttons could be improved, because you will have to strain your index finger just a bit to be able to reach these, especially the forward button. I would have preferred if these buttons were located where my thumb rests on the side of the mouse.

Too Small For Bigger Hands

Logitech VX Nano

Unfortunately, this is the nature of the notebook mouse. In an effort to make the VX Nano as portable and compact as possible, Logitech has made the mouse a little too small for comfort. I’m far from having the biggest hands in the world and I still found the VX Nano a little uncomfortable to use over an extended period of time. It could be that I am more accustomed to a larger mouse, one that fills out my palm a little better.

I’m not sure if it is better or worse, but the VX Nano also has a pretty slim profile, so there isn’t much height to it either. The comfort level with a notebook mouse like this will vary from individual to individual.

I own the VX Nano from august and it’s fantastic! I never change batteries and I’ve got 50% of charge left, working 9-10 hours/day (or more sometimes). And I can move my laptop without worring about the receiver. But my middle button is configured for change window in WinVista, not for search
