YUBZ Talk Bluetooth Headset Review

Conclusion

yubzbt-8

In the end, the YUBZ Talk Bluetooth headset (as well as its wired YUBZ Talk counterpart) is a very niche product with a very specific demographic in mind. The people that would be interested in such an item would fall into two general categories. They’re either geek chic people who dare to be different with a retro style or they’re people who can’t stand the ever-shrinking size of technology and just want something more traditional-feeling.

I’m neither of these. That’s just a matter of preferences, but given the price for this item, I expected a lot more in terms of material choices and build quality. From a practical standpoint, the YUBZ Talk won’t help with the cell phone bans while driving either, but you can extend the range of your call within a concrete jungle.

I applaud YUBZ for taking this unique approach, but it’s just not for me.

The Good

  • Unique approach to Bluetooth headset market
  • Available in a variety of colors and designs
  • Good voice quality from traditional-looking handset

The Bad

  • Cheap plastic feel and build quality
  • Not practical for mobile use
  • Control buttons are very “clacky”

Rating: 6.5/10
